Immensa Technology acquires Saudi-based Shakl3D and LayLabs
UAE-based 3D printing solution provider Immensa Technology Labs, has acquired two Saudi Arabia-based companies: Shakl3D and LayLabs.
The acquisitions come as part of Immensa’s regional expansion strategy. Established in 2016, Immensa offers its 3D printing solutions to companies working in sectors like oil and gas, transportation, aviation, defence, etc.
It operates in Dubai and Sharjah, Kuwait, Riyadh, and soon will expand to the US.
“Immensa currently serves the entire GCC. However, with this acquisition, the company is seeking to make KSA a key market, not just to serve but to develop domestically the capabilities and rapidly expand the adoption of additive manufacturing within the kingdom, which we see not as a business expansion but as a home to Immensa’s growing capabilities,” said Fahmi Al Shawwa, CEO and founder of Immensa Technology.
“By acquiring their existing setups and investing in what they have started, we can expedite the development of the industrial 3D-printing sector in the kingdom and provide both teams with the international platform of Immensa,” said Omar Abuhabaya, general manager of Immensa KSA and chief operational officer (COO) of Immensa Group.
Shakl3D and LayLabs were established in 2016 and 2018 respectively, and have been primarily focusing on the oil and gas sector as well as industrial sectors. The two companies look to further extend their services into other industries, including medical, maritime, aviation, and utilities.
