Mobile is winning in Saudi’s internet race [Infographic]
Mobile internet use might be high in Saudi Arabia but ecommerce companies still haven’t convinced those people to shop on their phones as well.
It’s one of the MENA countries where people are more likely to log in via their mobile than their PC, yet according to data from Go Gulf Saudis are still more comfortable doing their online shopping via a bigger screen.
Then again, internet penetration generally is at 58 percent, suggesting that as smart phone prices come down (and fintech startups begin to get a foothold in the region) that dynamic may well begin to change.
